The design/creation of a brand’s visual identity and experience. May include digital and physical elements, e.g., storefront, design of a retail space, restaurant design, office design, use of digital assets, etc. A Case Document is required to describe how the design thinking approach uniquely positions the brand and appeals to the target audience.

The ICE Awards celebrate creative excellence in Atlantic Canada. The annual awards show is organized by Atlantic Business Magazine in partnership with a diverse volunteer group of Atlantic Canadian advertising and marketing professionals. ICE aims to recognize the best in advertising, design, digital, and creativity, inspiring the highest creative bar possible.

Eligibility


The ICE Awards are open to any company or individual located in Atlantic Canada (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador) engaged in creating and/or producing advertising, design/branding, digital marketing, photography or illustration.
  • All entries must have been first published, posted or aired in their original form between January 1, 2022 and June 1, 2023. All entries must have been conceived and created in Atlantic Canada.
  • ICE Awards may request proof of initial publication, posting or airdate, as well as proof of creation or production dates.
  • Submissions that have been previously entered in the ICE Awards and are materially unchanged will not be eligible.
  • Entries may be moved into other categories at the judges’ discretion without the prior approval or consent of the entrant.
  • Entries may be disqualified if not submitted according to the specifications.
  • Please ensure no agency identifying marks appear on your entries.
  • A written English translation must accompany any French language submission. Entries without translation to English will not be eligible for judging.
  • ICE Awards are not responsible for any entrant submission error. The decision of the jury and ICE Awards is final.
  • The jury reserves the right to disqualify material not submitted according to specifications for each category, without notification or refund.
  • The entrant grants permission to show, duplicate, or play entries as ICE Awards deems appropriate.
  • In the event of duplicate entries, the first submission received will be accepted. No refunds will be issued so please check with your partners / agencies.

How To Enter


Please visit iceawards2023.iceberg.app to register, upload entries, and submit payment (credit card). All entries must be uploaded in the specified format for each category. Please read carefully and ensure that entries are prepared correctly.


Image Recommendations: Attach image files including GIF, JPG or PNG files. There is a maximum of 25MB.


Audio Recommendations: Upload uncompressed audio like WAV files or compressed audio like MP3 files. There is a maximum audio file size of 25MB.


Video Recommendations: Upload standard definition or HD videos via Vimeo. There is a maximum video size of 1GB.


URL Recommendations: Attach URL/website address to your entry. It does not matter if you include http or https beforehand.


A small description of the brand or product is allowed within the entry form for regional context. However, no descriptive copy, unless noted, should be added to explain and/or sell an idea to the judges.

All entries must be received no later than Friday, June 16th at 5:30pm ADT. Late entries submitted will not be eligible for judging. The ICE Awards are not responsible for any incomplete or incorrectly submitted entries. Entry period begins Friday, May 5.

The appropriate submission fee must accompany each entry. Entries submitted without appropriate submission fee will not be eligible for judging.

Judging

Judging


Submissions will be evaluated based on the creative strength of the idea or concept, as well as the quality of the execution. There are two award levels in each category: Gold and Silver. There will also be one entry chosen by judges from all eligible categories for the Best of Show Award.


The ICE Awards uses a blind judging format, whereby the entrants' names will not be revealed to the judges until the Awards Ceremony.


To ensure complete impartiality, judging will be carried out by up to six independent judges from outside Atlantic Canada. No judge is affiliated with a regional agency to the best of the ICE Awards' Judging Committee's knowledge. Judges are industry-recognized professionals who are selected based on their credentials and experience with advertising creative and/or graphic design.
